Coachella - Woodstock in My Mind

Lana Del Rey

Lust for Life

Lana Del Rey released "Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind" as the third single from her upcoming album Lust for Life, which is set to be released July 28. "Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind" sticks to Lana's iconic style but has a slightly different sound. I am a huge fan of Lana Del Rey, however I have waited for her to do something that sounds remotely different from the rest of her works, and while she does somewhat on this track is still sounds almost exactly like everything else, she is an undeniable talent, and I think she has the fan base to try something different, and yet she continues to play it safe, as we've seen in recent months taking risk, genre wise, has been paying off for many artist (i.e. Lady Gaga's Joanne). I love Lana and am very excited for Lust for Life, and "Coachella - Woodstock In My Mind" is my favorite track we've gotten thus far.

Swish Swish feat. Nicki MInaj

WITNESS

"Swish Swish" is the supposed response to Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood", the song features Nicki Minaj, who also has had beef with Swift in recent years. "Swish Swish" is everything I wanted and more, I've been waiting for a song from Witness, Perry's recently announced 5th album, that was a pop anthem and this is definitely the song with the most potential. I love the more dance R&B sound, that the other songs lack, Nicki, per usual, has an amazing verse, Katy's vocals, for the first time thus far on Witness, are featured in the right ways, and it makes the song so much better. In my personal opinion, the song isn't about Taylor Swift, Katy inadvertently said less than a week ago she wasn't going to respond to "Bad Blood". It is easy to see why one make think it is directed at Swift, but I really doubt that it is.
